ARLENE PATRICIA WISEMAN It is with great sadness that we announce that, after a series of debilitating illnesses, Arlene Patricia Wiseman (nee Rosenblat), of the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital on December 15, 2012, with her sister by her side. She was laid to rest on December 17, 2012, at the Bnay Abraham Cemetery with Rabbi L. Lander officiating. Pallbearers were Wesley and Jeffrey Palatnick, Morley Rosenbloom, David Coodin, Jeff Morgan and Ken Levi. Arlene was predeceased by her husband Dr. Gordon M. Wiseman on April 29, 2012, her parents Donnie and Molly Rosenblat and her brother Sidney. Left to mourn her passing are her sister Maimie Shumsky, numerous nephews and nieces and many friends. She was born in Winnipeg on June 7, 1934, and spent most of her life here. Arlene had been a long term resident of Vialoux Drive in Charleswood. She was educated in Winnipeg and met Gordon while attending the University of Manitoba where Arlene obtained a Masters Degree in Psychology. She worked for many years as a child psychologist most notably in the Winnipeg school system. Arlene and Gordon were wed on December 29, 1956, and were happily married for 55 years. They enjoyed a very close relationship exhibiting strong mutual support in all aspects of their lives. Arlene was heavily involved in raising and showing Collies and Shelties and was a strong supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society and other animal welfare associations. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa and Grace Hospital where she received the best of care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre, the Winnipeg Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
