PHILIP LLOYD HARTY Philip Harty passed suddenly at home on Monday, December 17, 2012 at age 86. He was predeceased by his father Leo; mother Marie; brothers Sherman and Dan, and granddaughter Justina Linda. Survived by brothers Joe and Pat; sisters Louise Tardif, Shirley Wall, Ruth St. Marie; children, Sheila (Richard) Malchuk, Chester (Debra) Harty, Carson (Qin) Harty, Dale (Elaine) Harty, Darlene (Dane) Clarke, Maggie Harty and Leila Boettcher. Philip was honoured and proud in sharing and reminiscing of the births and ongoing life accomplishments of his 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He served in Europe as a Veteran of the Second World War, and was a past member and strong supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion. Philip cherished many memories and stories of his early life events that took place in Laventurie, north of Spiritwood, SK and places such as Timberlost\The Block where his parents raised their family. He spent his middle years working and raising his family in Thompson, MB where he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping on Paint Lake and later years residing in Winnipeg. Loving Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather - you will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed. Donations in memory of Philip can be made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a children's charity of choice. Cremation has taken place through LeClaire Brothers Funeral Services, with interment to take place in Big River, SK at a later date.
