I am so sorry to hear about Diane. I have taken some time to reflect on memories of good times with Jim and Diane, some of those times on weekend get aways at the cottage, or listening to some good time tunes. In the good old days Diane and I loved to turn up the music and dance the night away. Raising our families kept us busy dancing to a different tune.We moved to BC in 1990 and I've missed our friendship ever since. I am happy to say that my daughter Julia and Jenna have become good friends, and keep up a long distance connection. Against all odds of parenting Diane was a stay at home mom that made it work.Under her umbrella was a well grounded fountain of love for her family and friends. And as we tend to take things for granted, I think Diane valued every thing and mostly the love of her family. I share in the pain of saying good-bye to a friend who was loved and will always be remembered to me as ,"the mother of love." my condolences to Jim ,James ,Jenna and Jillian. - Posted by: Ivy Joseph (Friend ) on: Dec 29, 2012

I met Dianne as a young teen and introduced her to my best friend Jim. I new they were meant for each other. We remained friends through life. We all spent time together at the lake, birthdays,Christmas's. Dianne was a fun loving, caring person that never had a lot to say but had her opinions. She loved her husband and family vey much and was selfless looking after them. I will miss her greatly, love you. - Posted by: Doug Wright (Long time friend) on: Dec 29, 2012

My condolences to members of the Grimstead and Slobodian families. It's not fair to lose someone you love at such a young age. I will treasure my great memories from days gone by hanging out with Jim and Diane - cruising to Kildonan Park, listening to Alice Cooper in Diane's parents' basement, and having fun at the Grimstead cabin in Whytewold Beach. - Posted by: Kim Haldane-Wilsone (nee Farnworth, previously married to Doug Wright) (Old friend from teenage days) on: Dec 29, 2012

I would like to give my sincere condolences to the family and say that Diane was a true friend and will be sadly missed by all that new her. When I was asked to accompany Jim, Diane,Mr.And Mrs. Grimstead down to their cottage in Whytewold beach in the summer time ( back in the day ), Mr.Grimstead would say," Well Bill, if you really want to come down to the Cabin you'll have to sleep in the Outhouse with all the fly's,do you think you can handle that? " and Diane would laugh and say, " Don't listen to him Bill, just come and we'll find a place for yah. ". So, I did go ( many times ) and always had a great time ( with the whole family ) and I " Didn't have to sleep in the " Outhouse " after all ", thanks to Diane. Well Diane you're out of your pain and hopefully in a much better place and we'll all miss you. Jim if you need anything you've got my number, don't hesitate to use it,if you feel the need to.
