Predeceased by his wife Anne (Rosenberg) in 2002, daughter Roberta Weber in 2007, sister Pearl Statler and brother Ed Moscovitch, he is survived by his brother Ari Maoz, daughter Marcy (Lloyd) Secter, son-in-law Philip Weber and his grandchildren Rena (Daniel) Elbaze, Seri (David) Blatt, Dov (Sarah) Secter, Charles (Laura) Weber, Sara (Marc) Warren and eight great-granddaughters. At the time of his passing he was resident at the Simkin Centre. Prior to that Jack lived in Garden City where he proudly cultivated his family, home and garden and a community involvement that spanned decades. He was chairman of the Seven Oaks School Board for many years. He worked in sales in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, but his last and most satisfying employment was for the Canada Pension Plan where he enjoyed helping people claim their rightful pensions and benefits. An eternal student, Jack returned to university later in his career, completing two degrees and enjoyed the camaraderie of the campus, relating to fellow students and staff of all ages. He enjoyed the theatre and shared his thoughts on the productions with satisfaction and pleasure. Jack undertook many community projects, most important of which was the planting of the boulevard trees in Garden City. He was an archivist and took pleasure in creating binders of mementos and pictures which collectively record the times and lives of his family, friends and community. He loved a debate, a challenge and the eternal question why . We send our sincere thanks to the kind and caring staff at Victoria Hospital and the Simkin Centre. Funeral services were held at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, Sunday, December 16, 2012. Pall-bearers were his grandchildren, Daniel Elbaze, Charles Weber, Sara Warren, Dov Secter and nephews Jeff Frank and Steven Moscovitch. Donations appreciated to the Anne Jack Moscovitch fund at Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.
