Barney is survived by his wife of 46 years, Esther, sons Mark (Karole), Gary (Heather), and Rod (Jaylene), grandchildren Tanner, Cameron, Kayden, and Ava. He is also survived by his siblings, Moise, Rose, Gilbert (Anne), George (Camilia), John (Edna), Edgar (Rose), and Yvette; sisters / brothers-in-law, Beatrice (Bill), Cecile (Abby), Annette (Ted), Denise, Bernice (Fred), Eileen (Paul), Art (Tracey) and brother-in-law Bill. Barney is predeceased by his parents Joe and Alice, two brothers Gus and Ernie, father-in-law Edgar, mother-in-law Madeline, niece / godchild Melissa, sister-in-law Florence, and brothers-in-law Victor, Don and Wayne. Barney worked since the age of 16 for many construction companies, until he was hired by MTS, where he worked for 27 years until his retirement in 1999. Barney had many passions, but his favourite was developing friendships over coffee at his favourite Robins Donuts on McPhillips, where he could be found chatting up a storm and smiling at all who entered. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Avenue. All are welcome. Pallbearers will be: Albert, Randal, Byron, Fred, Dan, and John. Honorary Pallbearer: Leon. The family would like to pass along their thanks and admiration to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, and are asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation (online) in memory of Barney Ducharme.
