JUNE ELIZABETH KUNZ KEATING (nee BUFFIE) June 13, 1929 - December 28, 2012 Peacefully on December 28, 2012, after a short illness, we are saddened to announce that June has left us. Left to mourn her passing is her faithful partner Ralph Keating, sons Michael and Kenneth Kunz, daughter Debra Reid, (nee Kunz), brother Ron Buffie, and sister Joyce Peters as well as her niece Cheryl Peters and nephew Barry Peters, grandchildren Elizabeth Kunz and Michael Kunz. June was predeceased by her daughter Roxanne, parents August and Mary Buffie, brother Bob Buffie and husband Mike Kunz. June received her education at Margaret Scott, King Edward, and Sturgeon Creek schools. June worked for the Hudson Bay at which she was an integral part of the Hudson Bay choir. A highlight of the festive season was listening to the Bay choir singing beautiful Christmas carols. After her marriage to Michael Kunz the family moved to Vancouver where June became a full time Mom. June was a vivacious and attractive young woman and came first in the beauty contests she entered. In 1967 June met Ralph Keating, they became soulmates and have been together ever since. Often they would be seen at one of the many restaurants they frequented dining and enjoying each others company. During her illness Ralph was a tower of strength and this continued after her passing. June had an encyclopedic memory for movies and actors and won a trip to Hollywood by picking the Academy Award winners. June was a kind and compassionate woman and we're all going to miss her. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences for helping to make Junes last hours as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
