IRENE ALLISON GEORGE Our hearts ache to say good-bye to our beautiful mother, wife,"nanny", sister, aunt and friend, Irene Allison George who left us Friday, January 4, 2013. Irene peacefully left us; she would encourage us to move forward, be kind to each other, inspire each other and to really live life. Irene will be lovingly remembered by the love of her life, Vic Love; daughter Linda (David) Griffith; sons Ronnie and Danny George; grandchildren Madyson, Ryan, Reanna, Riley, Kaitlyn, Justin and Nicholas; as well by, Greg and Kim Love and Sandy and Kerry Johnson. She will also be greatly missed by her family in Ottawa, ON; sisters Kay Sullivan, Tookie (Bob) St. Jacques, Rosie (Jim) Dinsmore; brother Dave Depratto (Donna); and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Ellen Depratto. A Celebration of Irene's Life will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Phoenix Community Centre, 153 Seekings Street, South Headingley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. Remembering Ireneyour laugh, your smile, your voice, your style. your strength, your poise, your gifts, your joys, your words, your grace, your eyes, your face. You touched so many with your kindness and grace, beauty and wisdom, patience and understanding and created lasting memories that will be forever in our hearts. We will miss you.

  • Irene it was a great joy to get to know you these last few years, to invite me into your family, to share the Christmas's, the birthdays, Madyson's graduation, our Jack and Jill party, our wedding, and all the mundane day to day stuff.   • Vic, Linda, Ron, Danny and families my deepest sympathies and prayers are with each of you. I feel like I have had the privilege of knowing Irene for most of my life. I remember when your Nanny Ellen came to the Seniors program and I came to realize that she was related to all of you, it was wonderful being reconnected after so many years. Irene became more of a friend in my life at that time. A greater friend is hard to find! Her words of encouragement, her wonderful sense of humour and her very sensitive and caring spirit will always be treasured in my heart. I will miss you Irene......until we meet again.   • To Linda, Ronnie and Danny, I remember my first plane ride with your mother when I was 12 years old. I spent a month in Winnipeg that summer and Irene was kind and generous to me.
