IDA (MARY) KAKEWASH Peacefully, after a brief illness, on January 4, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 72 years, Ida (Mary) Kakewash "Ole Lady" of Winnipeg, MB has gone into the Spirit World. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin. She leaves to mourn her passing Ivan (Nora), Billy (Irene), Collin, Wes, Hilda (William), Helen (Dan), Steven, Randy, Eugene, and Joanne (Mike); 44 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren; special great-granddaughter Ashtyn; grandson Jonny (Lips) Kakewash; stepbrothers Miles and Bruce Allerie; stepsister Doris Chartrand, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was born in Winnipegosis, MB but lived most of her life in Winnipeg. Ida wanted everyone to celebrate her life and to remember the happy times. One of Ida's greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and singing a poo, a poo and a poo, poo, poo to them. When remembering Ida, turn up the fiddling music and start jigging. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre GH4. Wake and viewing at 1338 Main Street (Bread of Life Ministries) on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight with funeral service to take place Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Officiating clergy Pastor Richard Sanderson. Pallbearers: Jeremy McLean, Bruce Kakewash, Edward Kakewash, Daniel Stevenson, Raymond Roulette Jr. and Chris McKay. Honorary pallbearers will be "All of Mom's family and friends who shared in her life"
