HUBERT BOUILLET 1923 - 2013 It is with sadness that the family of Hubert Joseph Bouillet announces that he passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Calgary at the age of 89. His loving family were with him in prayer and thought this last two weeks, son Raymond and his wife Elizabeth of High River, Alberta, son Laurence and his wife Heidi of México City, daughter Caroline of Toronto, Ontario, his five grandsons and their spouses, Justin and Nikki, Evan and Kari, Noel and Leanne, all of Calgary Alberta, Ian of Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba, Michael and Farzia of México City, two granddaughters Erin and Maureen Solmundson of Vancouver, B.C. and seven great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Odile, of Red Deer, Gabrielle of Waco, Texas, Denise and husband John of Chicago, Illinois, many nieces , nephews and close friends. Hubert was predeceased by his loving wife Adriana (Ginger), father Camille, mother André, brother Michael, sisters Genevieve and Edith, and grandson Curtis. Hubert was born in the land of the midnight sun in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. He served his country with distinction in the Royal Canadian Infantry Regiment overseas in Italy, France, Germany and Holland in the Second World War receiving the Canadian and British Empire medals, 1939-1945. Hubert returned to Canada and married Adriana whom he met in Holland at the end of the war. Career advancements took him and his family from farming at Ochre River in 1948 to a Commissionaire at the RCAF Air Base in Gimli, Manitoba in 1956. In 1967 he was employed at the Seagram Distillery in Gimli advancing his career to Plant Personnel and Safety Manager retiring in 1989. Hubert was very involved in the Gimli community, serving on the Evergreen School Board for two terms and one term as chairman. He served 20 years as the volunteer Fire Chief of Gimli and RM fire department including 10 years on the board of directors of the Manitoba Fire Chiefs Association. Hubert and Ginger retired to Kelowna in 1989. He was an avid golfer and founding member of the Michael Brook Ranch Golf Club, Probus Club of Kelowna and an active member of the Kelowna Immaculate Conception Church. In 2009 they moved to Calgary, to be closer to their family in their final years. Hubert was a loving father and grandfather and a special friend to many people over the years. He will be dearly missed by all those he touched. The family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth Manor and personnel companions for the loving care provided to Hubert.
