EILEEN M. MORRISON (nee BART) 1934 - 2013 ...and (Eileen) after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself (John 14:3) Such transpired as written, in the evening of January 10, 2013, peacefully and mercifully, with her family by her side. Left to mourn the loss of the patriot of the family are her husband Robert (Bob), son Scott (Helen), daughter Kathryn (Cliff) Hryciuk and six grandchildren Jesse, Gage, Sheridan, McKenzie, Malik and Joshua. Also left to mourn are the Shoal Lake and Brandon family; brother Ed and nephews Rod and Jim and niece Janice. Eileen is remembered by her sister-in-law Joanell of Riverside, California. Eileen was predeceased by her parents; Marie and Louis Bart and a brother in infancy. Her love for the family was paramount, be it in the Venus Bay home or at the lake cottage. She loved to cook for the family and made sure that all the major family events, from the festive season to birthdays, had her touch. Only this Christmas was that care and supervision missing. But the family did the preparations for her in the hospital and that brought joy to her heart that indeed there was succession. Her Church, St. Aidan's, was a significant part of her life. In addition to her family, next was Bridge, from duplicate to the kitchen type. This one activity introduced her to many new friends. Golf and curling were sports she enjoyed participating in. Her career, from a school teacher (Miles Mac Collegiate), housewife and mother, then to tax consultant and small company financial officer, was marked with excellence of skills application. Thorough she was; and we all benefited. Taking the family to Disneyland in 2003 was the highlight of her travels. She was also able to enjoy winter vacations to Mesa Arizona, Florida Gulf Coast and the Bahamas. Eileen had many friends and that was her observation, as they frequently visited her during her six week stay in the St. Boniface Hospital and the Riverview Palliative Care ward. The support they provided was exemplary and the family wishes to thank each and every one. The prayer support was also felt by Eileen and the family. If Eileen did not have a chance to so express, the family knows that she wished to thank in particular Mrs. Denyse Whalley, for being there when there was a need. Simply acknowledged; many beautiful people crossed Eileen's life. The medical team and CancerCare Manitoba were exemplary and the family wishes to thank in particular Drs. Altman, Dean, Daeninck, Lotocki and Popowich, as well as Drs. Perry, Van Jaarsveldt, Garcia and St. Godard. To give thanks, a memorial service will be held at St. Aidan's Church (Campbell and Kingsway), 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 14; Rev. Ken Turnbull officiating. Your presence will be a thanks offering. Flowers gratefully declined. If so wished, contributions to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation or the Riverview Health Centre Foundation in memory of Eileen, would be thanks for their care of Eileen for the last six weeks.
