OLIVE MARGARET MUNRO (ORMROD) August 14, 1915 - December 15, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom and Nanny, Olive Margaret Munro, at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Harry in June 2008, and by her sister Ena Griffin in 1999. Born in Moose Jaw, SK she moved to Winnipeg as a young girl and met the love of her life, Harry, at the age of 16. They married in 1936 when she turned 21. She devoted her life to the family that followed. Mom was an excellent cook, and an inspired hostess. She loved a big gathering and often spent days preparing for parties. She was a member of "Club", a group of friends that got together once a month to share stories and laughs. She was also an avid Bingo fan and played every Thursday night, rain or shine. Her garden was always a source of pride and she could be found on many a summer's day with her spade in hand. Every summer also brought the annual car trip to all points in North America. With their dog Poopsie on board, Mom and Dad would take off to see the sights and always came back with a new spoon for her large collection. Mom was a great supporter of Dad's career, and loved all the functions and dances she attended with him. After Dad retired they travelled extensively to Great Britain, Europe, and her favourite, Hawaii. While we will miss Mom deeply, we take comfort in knowing that she has gone to be with her beloved Harry, her first and only true love. Olive is survived by her daughter Barbara Clough (Ron), son Stuart Munro (Lise), grandchildren Kimberly Donkers (Henry) and Shannon Munro, and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jack Donkers and Ty Gammon, along with many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Lodge and to Grace and Gordon Cheyne for their caring and companionship. Cremation took place December 18 and a private service took place December 19.
