THERESE LALONDE (nee RICHARD) 1927 - 2013 It is with heavy hearts our family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Thérèse at the age of 85 years young on January 11, 2013, at St. Boniface General Hospital (Palliative Care). Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 67 years, Roger, her four daughters Patricia (Roland), Paulette (John), Lynn (Daniel), Darlene (Rene), her grandchildren Carol, Natalie, Michelle, Robert, Tyler and Jeremy, her great-grandchildren, Troy, Brett, Sophie and Liam. She also leaves to mourn two sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and many very specials friends. Mom enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and her family always came first. She was a great mom. She was a wonderful hostess and her and Dad entertained family and friends almost every weekend with great food, live music and of course refreshments . They did always love a good party. Some of the most memorable ones were Christmases spent in Fannystelle which will never be forgotten. In their younger years the summers included many camping trips, but as the years went by and the kids grew up the camping trips changed to casino trips. In the last few years they simply enjoyed sitting on their balcony drinking a cold beer or sipping a Black Russian (Eh Mom?). Some of Mom's favourite pastimes were knitting mittens and dishcloths, working on jigsaw puzzles and of course her love of baking as well as her famous tourtieres. She also spent numerous hours planting and caring for her beautiful flower gardens at home as well as at Lilac Resort. Mom and Dad had a wonderful married life always surrounded by family, friends and lots of love. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the many doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital (Palliative Care) for all their wonderful care, support and compassion. In respecting Mom's wishes, a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mom to CancerCare or a charity of choice. Dad will sadly miss his "Catin" We love you Mom and you will always be in our hearts. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Mon Oncle Roger and family My thoughts are with you all at this time. Aunt Terry has always been a special aunt for me. I can never underestimate the value of the love and kindness that she showed me through out my life. Her love of life, her inquisitive nature and her keen sense of humor in so many ways mirrored those of my Dad whom she was so fond of. To Ma Tante Therese, I cannot express how fortunate I have been to have had you be a part of my life. I will always have fond memories of you and a place in my heart reserved for you Your nephew, Gerry Richard - Posted by: Gerry Richard (nephew) on: Jan 15, 2013

What a wonderful tribute to Therese!I can only smile as I read through her legacy. Here's my Top 10, a la David Letterman: 1 - Spotless home! 2 - Immaculate personal grooming. 3 - Especially the manicure! 4 - Warm and inviting home! 5 - Parties! 6 - Basement (lower level!) with full on bar, music amplifiers and black russians! 7 - The black leather furniture in the living room. Never seen that before - contributed to my Interior Design aesthetic! 8 - The Love. Treated me like one of her girls! 9 - That cute nephew who lived downtown (can't remember his name but introduced Lynn and me to some great music). 10 - And number 1 - Daughter Lynn who allowed me to experience all this! - Posted by: Michelle Turenne-Smith (5th Daughter (during formative years).) on: Jan 14, 2013

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. As the manager of Kenwood Court, I enjoyed having Mr. and Mrs. Lalonde as tentants and was very sad to see them leave. I will keep your family in my prayers. Noreen Beyko - Manager of Kenwood Court - Posted by: Noreen Beyko (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2013
