ALBERT SEGAL October 28, 1927 - January 14, 2013 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Albert Segal at Riverview Hospital. Loving husband to Sylvia, devoted father to Sharon (Steve Moscovitch), Kim, Lauren (Morley Slutsky), and adoring grandfather to Daniel, Noah, Daliah, and Tevi, his sole remaining sibling Rita, and many nieces and nephews. Albert was from a family of eight close brothers and sisters: Gil, Morry, Carol, Sylvia, Percy, Bill - the children of Alice and Harry Segal. Albert was a self-made man building a flourishing business, Gerb Enterprises, and was known for his savvy and ethics. A great part of his life was devoted to recreational boating. He was actively involved at Redboine Boating Club where he was Commodore for many years. Sylvia and Albert had a life full of friends and relatives in Winnipeg, Winnipeg Beach, and Florida where they spent many winters. Al, loved to work with wood and tools and many of his summers were spent fixing the cottage. A great sense of humour and kind of heart, Albert was well respected and liked by all. He had a great love of friends and family. He will be missed for the twinkle in his eye; the way he could make a person feel special and for the constant concern for the well-being of those he cared about. The family wishes to thank the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, the much appreciated support of friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
