Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAXINE CATHERINE MITCHELL (nee CAYER) November 18, 1930 - January 17, 2013 It is in death we find freedom. Maxine Catherine Mitchell found her freedom on the evening of Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Victoria Hospital in the company of her loving family. Left to cherish Maxine's memory are her children John Mitchell (Mae), Diana Vaile (Brad), Jim Mitchell (Nancy) and Karen Kummen (Bruce); grandchildren Jason, Kristen, Allison, Taylor, Brooke and Mitchell. She was predeceased by her father, Anthony, mother, Sophie and her sister, Georgina. Mom will always be remembered as a gentle, kind and loving person. She liked the simple things in life. Family gatherings would bring a smile to her face and warmth to her heart. Mom, you will forever warm our hearts. May you rest in peace. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre, Meadowood Manor and the Victoria Hospital. A private family service will be held at a later date. We lived next door to the Mitchells growing up and I was childhood friends of Karen. The memories are endless, Mrs. Mitchell was caring, kind, selfless and giving, her door was always open she was a fantastic lady, neighbor and mother! She was always there for her children and made sure they were taken care of. One of kind she was!
