Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Betty was 'Auntie' Betty to me and my brother and sister. I remember many good times spent with our family and Betty and Doug growing up. We always felt welcome in their home and I even as a teen always welcomed big hugs from Betty who was one of the most warm and generous people I have known. We have lost a great lady. My condolences to all the family and freinds out there. - Posted by: Shawn Ennis (Family Friend) on: Jan 28, 2013

  • Betty was `Auntie` Betty to me and my siblings. We shared a lot of good memories with her and Doug when they lived here in Vancouver. It seems that we were always over visiting us or we were over at their place visiting. My condolences to all the family and friends. She will be missed. - Posted by: Shawn Ennis (Family Friend) on: Jan 28, 2013

  • Rebecca is known as Auntie Betty to me. I have fond memories of large family gahering throughout my early years growing up. Her and Uncle Doug were "my family" when I moved to Vancouver in 1975 to start my flying career. Auntie Betty generously shared her wisdom and talents. Her love of gardening, cooking, sewing, and crafting was paaed along to me and enriches my life to this day. She will be missed by those she loved and by those who loved her.She has earned her Angle Wings and now may she rest in peace and in the company of those who went before her. - Posted by: Daria Kajda () on: Jan 26, 2013

  • I love the picture you have posted of Betty. It is just as I always picture her: with a lovely smile on her face. Doug and Betty were such special friends to our family. Kind and helpful in every way. When we moved to the West Coast they opened their doors to our family while we waited to move into our new house. They were two of mom and dad's closest friends and shared so many special days with our family that they were really an extension of it. I will always remember Betty as a loving "mom" to her family, a compassionate nurse to so many patients at RCH, a true friend, and a real gem of person. It was a privilege to have known her. May God reward her for a life well lived. Maureen - Posted by: Maureen Krump (family friend ) on: Jan 25, 2013

  • I knew Betty for over 47 years. She was a great mother-in-law, was like a second mother to me and a true friend. I am so blessed to have known her and she helped me through a lot of trying times and was always there for me to talk to or just listen and give advice. My heart goes out to all the family and truly appreciate the kindness they have always shown me. Betty was a kind, caring and compassionate lady and will be missed by all who knew her. I love her and will always miss her. Janet - Posted by: Janet Sorensen (former daughter-oin-law) on: Jan 24, 2013
