IVOR (BILL) VEARLEY SYLVESTER MASON May 6, 1927 - January 22, 2013 Strong bright joy-filled light Like a heart skipping a beat, Dad has left to dwell in his eternal home. Among those to greet him will be his parents; Ivor and Leila (Curling). Letting him go are his children; Cedric, Joanna and Debra with their mother Yvonne, his sisters; Luceta, Naomi, Hazel and Hyacinth, his niece Hazel with other beloved nieces, nephews and relatives along with those he held dear. Dad was born in Jamaica, moved to England and then to Winnipeg where he worked for CN before retiring. Dad loved people. He brought "brightness" with smiles and laughter wherever he walked. His biggest joy was his family. A Prayer vigil will be held at Bardal Funeral Home on Friday January 25, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at the St. Kizito Roman Catholic church at 610 rue Lafleche, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. It is hard to say goodbye. We will be looking for your light, Dad, when it is our time to make the journey home. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I have always enjoyed listening to your dad. Just a little rum in my favorite sweet red drink. Always smiling, I can't tell you how shocked I was to receive the email from Antonine. I know Joanna, this will be a large hole in your life but your father loved you and your siblings so very much. love Joan - Posted by: Joan McMahon (friend to Joanna ) on: Jan 26, 2013

  • It is with profound sorrow that I write these lines to offer my condolences to Joanna,Debra, Cedric and other family members. I knew Bill very well and will miss his affable mood, always ready to share a joke or perform a harmless trick. His smile and pleasantness will be very much missed,so will his latest stories. I can't believe that he left us so unexpectantly. May the "God of all comfort" sustain you family members, now, and on days when you feel forlorn. - Posted by: Carmen Nembhardt (Friend & Honorary Consul for Jamaica) on: Jan 25, 2013
