ANN GORDON SMITH
Born: Feb 05, 1921
Date of Passing: Jan 24, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN GORDON SMITH Peacefully, on Thursday January 24, 2013, at Victoria Hospital, Ann Gordon Smith passed away at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. Ann leaves to mourn her devoted husband Ivan, their four children Dick Smith (Jan), John Smith (Lindi), Fred Smith (Karen), and Debbi Peterson (Lawrie). She leaves her beloved grandchildren Stacy (Casey), Blair, Stephen (Brittany), Bill, Kevin, Brodie (Paul), David, Amanda, Danielle, great-granddaughter Greta, numerous nieces and nephews and her special dog Gordie. Ann was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, on February 5, 1921, to Elsie Gordon and Frederick Charles Meadwell and had five brothers, all of whom predeceased her - Fred, Ken, Dick, John and Alec. Ann and Ivan raised their four children in Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay, Ontario, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Winnipeg. Although she had many illnesses, they were no match for her positive attitude. She would never admit to a bad day. Family meant everything to her; she was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed. Our appreciation goes to the staff at Victoria Hospital, the homecare workers and nurses and the many medical professionals over the years at the St. Boniface and Seven Oaks Hospitals. A funeral service for Ann will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, at 168 Wilton in Winnipeg on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Victoria Hospital or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
