Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE GRACE HILL Peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, Olive Hill passed away at the age of 94. Olive was predeceased by her husband Charles Hill on May 16, 2012. She is survived by her son Murray Charles Hill and his wife Mindy Moss, and her sister, Cyrilla Dent. Olive was born in Russell, Manitoba, on September 10, 1918, and grew up in Winnipeg. She met Charles while working at the Canada Malting Company after he returned from the Second World War as a Prisoner of War survivor. They were married on March 9, 1949. Their first child, Elaine, lost her battle with brain cancer at four years old. After marrying Charles, Olive never worked another day in her life. She was a stay at home Mom caring for her son Murray and managing the family home. She was an amazing mother and wife. Olive also lived for her friends. She cared about them and would always be there for them if she was needed. She was very social, knew how to listen and always knew what to say. Olive donated her time to her church, Deer Lodge United, and always offered her knitting and sewing skills to charities in need. She somehow knew, without being told, that the more you gave the more you would get back. Age related health issues and care needs resulted in a necessary move into Tuxedo Villa personal care home in April 2012. Quickly, Olive's smile and wit and the respect she gave everyone endeared her to every staff member. All will miss her and all of them are thanked for the genuine care and compassion they gave to their new friend. A celebration of life service will be held for Olive on January 30, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home on Sherbrook. She will be laid to rest with her husband Charles and daughter Elaine at Brookside Cemetery. Funeral Home and Crematorium 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
