Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANNAH PEARL McGINNIS (nee GILES) May 9, 1915 - January 22, 2013 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Hannah McGinnis on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at the age of 97. Hannah will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children and many grandchildren. She was a very faith filled, compassionate caring person who was loved by all who met her. Hannah was born in Manitou, MB and as a young girl moved to Roblin, MB where she met and married the love of her life, Pat McGinnis on November 1, 1942. They moved to Anola in 1973 to be closer to their family and later moved to Winnipeg. Hannah moved to East Park Lodge in 1998. Then after a stroke in 2003, she transferred to Park Manor where she lived until her passing. Hannah was predeceased by Pat in 1989 after 47 years of marriage. They had four children; Pat (Sharon), George (Lynda), Eileen Vermeylen (Albert), Phyllis Farion (Dennis) and three generations of grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Tom and George Giles, and her niece and nephew, Marjorie Giles and Bill Giles. Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church at 710 Roanoke Ave. in Transcona on January 29, at 1:00 p.m. Viewing will be at 12:30 p.m. A special thanks to Dr. Andre DeRocquigny for his compassionate care over the years and thanks to Park Manor for looking after her so well since her stroke. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Park Manor Personal Care Home in Transcona. Her Golden Heart Stopped Beating Two willing hands are still. The one who toiled so hard for us Is resting at God's will. But as we look with gladness Upon the years she trod - We bless those years of happiness, And leave the rest with God.
