Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH HENRY WOODS Ken Woods of Killarney, MB, passed away at the age of 83 on January 5, 2013. Ken is survived by his wife (Kathryn) of Killarney and previous wife (Patricia) of Winnipeg, MB; sons: David (Cheryl), Alan (Rose), Donald and daughter: Diane (Rob); grandchildren: Tamara, Steven, Stacey, Krystal, Sean, Jennifer and Colleen. Ken was born July 11, 1929 in Liverpool, England. In 1947 served in the Royal Air Force. By 1950 Ken had attended Police College and became a constable working in the traffic division where he drove cruiser car and motorcycle serving the entire city of Liverpool. Ken married Patricia Winstanley on March 1, 1952. When their first son, David Kenneth was born in 1953 they emigrated from England to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. In 1954 Ken joined the Winnipeg City Police. In 1966, after 13 years with the police he accepted the position of National Sales executive with CKY radio. Ken went on to be employed in various managerial positions throughout his career. In 1981 Ken was married to Kathy. Prior to his retirement to Killarney in 1994, he was an instructor at Robertson Career College. Probably the most rewarding five years of his long and varied career. Ken played soccer for 35 years on both police teams and also enjoyed bowling. But his favourite pastime was playing a game of golf. Peaceful be thy rest Ken, Dad and Granddad.
