Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE WINNIFRED HOSFIELD August 30, 1924 - January 30, 2013 It is with great sadness that the family of Winn Hosfield announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Winn lived the first 63 years of her life in Winnipeg, MB, marrying Jim, her husband of 44 years, and raising their two children. Her working career was spent with the Manitoba Government, first with the Examinations Department, then with the Student Aid Branch. After retirement, she moved to Kelowna, BC where, over the next 23 years, she made significant contributions to St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Cathedral, the literacy program at Okanagan College, the gift shop in the Kelowna General Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Okanagan Mission Activity Centre for Seniors. In the course of her life in Winnipeg and Kelowna, and finally, in Calgary, Winn touched hundreds of people and made many dear friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Clifford (Mary Kay) Hosfield, and Dawn (Ross) Rigby; grandchildren Leanne (Graeme), Kathleen, Jennifer, Ian (Leeanne) and Douglas; in-laws Harvey and Sonia Hosfield; and many nieces, nephews, and friends - especially her long-time friend and travelling companion, Dorothy Ford. Winn was predeceased by her husband, Jim. There will be a private family Celebration of Winn's Life, followed by the interment of the urn in Kelowna at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Carewest Sarcee for their kind and compassionate care. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to their local Humane Society (SPCA), or a charity of their choice. I am very sorry to learn of Winn's passing away. I enjoyed going to some workshops with her, & numerous bridge games! She once described to me how she carried on after her husband died. I admired her courage & gumption so much! I also loved her sense of humour, & laughter. Murt Gilbert - Posted by: Murt Gilbert (friend through St. Michael's Cathedral, Kelowna) on: Feb 02, 2013
