Date of Passing: Jan 28, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBLAZENA ADAMEC October 23, 1923 - January 28, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Blazena Adamec on January 28, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Gabriel in 1988. She is survived by her daughters Dagmar (John Moorhouse) and Gabriela (Kazo Benadik) and her grandchildren Jason, David, Martin and Aynsley. Mom was born on October 23, 1923 in southern Bohemia, in the town Divcice. She was a strong woman with a gentle soul. She faced many challenges in her life, perhaps the most significant being leaving Czechoslovakia in 1968 to eventually settle in Winnipeg. Our home was always the place for friends to gather and socialize. Mom was an art lover, collecting many fine pieces over the years. Her home and garden were beautiful extensions of herself. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mom and dad travelled extensively around the world. While living in Winnipeg they were both very involved with the Czech Club and community. When we remember our mom we will think of her warmth, love, grace and beauty. She was in a class of her own. A memorial service will be held at the Canadian Czech-Slovak Benevolent Association, 154 McKenzie St., Winnipeg, phone (204) 589-7483, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.

Thinking of you during this difficult time. I often accompanied my Dad (Kerry Sargent) & Mom to his Dr's appt. and it was always a pleasure to see you both. Take Care. - Posted by: The Sargent Family (Friend of Dagmar & Dr. John Moorhouse) on: Feb 05, 2013
