KENT L. BAKER July 9, 1956 - January 30, 2013 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kent Baker, loving husband of Pat Baker for 33 years, father of Heather Baker, Evan Baker (Kim Allardyce), Kerry Baker (Rick Painchaud), Heather and Dave Anderson, and grandsons Tanner and Kian Anderson. Kent is predeceased by his parents George and Gladys Baker and his sister in infancy, Georgina. He is survived by his wife and children, brothers Lloyd (Jeannie) Baker, Ward Baker, sisters Brenda and Mona Baker, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kent was a good friend, a loving and dedicated husband, and an amazing father and grandfather. He loved woodworking, fishing, and above all, Kent loved his family. At Kent's request, there will not be funeral or memorial services. Kent lived simply and wanted his passing to be the same. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We have been family friends for decades enjoying the cottage life in the Whiteshell. We found out about Kent's passing through our daughter Melissa. We want to give our condolences to the family. Our prayers go out to your family. - Posted by: Richard, Lorraine (and Family) Bobrowski (Family Friends) on: Feb 10, 2013

  • Kent was my supervisor at Discovery Canada/Lancer Graphics back in the 1980's. He gave me a job and a chance to make something of myself, which I will always appreciate. Kent was a genuinely nice person, in fact he would share his lunch with me when I had none. He had photos of his kids (there were only two of them at the time) on his desk and he talked about them all the time. I was saddened to hear of Kent's passing and would like to offer my condolences to his family. - Posted by: Jeff Smith (former co-worker) on: Feb 07, 2013

  • My sincere sympathies to the Baker and Anderson families. I found out about Kent's passing this past Wednesday when having lunch with a colleague of the people from his family who work at the school I used to attend. I got to interact with the people from his family who worked there, albeit on different levels, but remember how fondly he was spoken of by them. I know that family meant a lot to him. And I remember that when he heard about one special-needs student at the school who needed a particular kind of assistance, that he played a part in helping them, even though he didn't know them. So he obviously looked for even those outside his familial and friendship circles. I hope that the fond memories you have of him will last for a long time to come. - Posted by: Ana Gschwend (a former student at the school some of Kent's family worked at--family members whom I've gotten to k) on: Feb 02, 2013
