IT'S BEEN A YEAR Cathy, you left us but we still see you. Mrs. Caron will always be there. The lives you touched and the hearts you made friends with will never be replaced. Jim made a few changes since your passing. That willow in the back, Jim always said he didn't like them. Cut down thousands in his career. Oh by the way, Jim retired. After 38 years with Manitoba Hydro, Mr. Caron said it's time. At St. Emile, some have retired and some have moved on as we all must. Oh yea, Train bear moved on. He went over to visit his brother at J's house. You could tell he was where he wanted to be. So Train bear said good bye to all the other bears and is now staying there. I have seen him a few times and he is happy. The bowling alley sign is gone. Remember when a bunch of the grade 8's challenged Mr. Caron to a pool game at the bowling alley? Mr. Caron didn't skip out of high school that much for nothing. They broke. One ball in. Missed the next. Mr. Caron called tables. That means all the balls are going in. Fastest 5 bucks they lost. The old 79 750 Honda motorcycle is gone now. Cathy, there has been only a couple other ladies from St. Emile who have been on that bike. You know who you are. Like you said Cathy, that bike was truly a classic. Basketball season is on. Guess who got a technical. You're already laughing. Mr. H. and the season just started. The extension to the deck is finished. When the bears and I sit out there having a beer and a cigar, we think about you. The bears are all doing fine. Main Bear, who is in the picture says hi mom. Main Bear was the first bear bought by Cathy and Jim. They have an extensive collection of bears. Mrs. Caron was quite adept at getting those bears out of that machine for a buck Main Bear remembered driving to a basketball game and Christine lifting his hat. There was always 20 dollars under that hat to pay for slurpees. You'll never guess who I saw. This is the first time ever that I have been off for Mr. H's wine and cheese party. Too bad both of us couldn't attend. Agota, was there. WOW. I recognized her but until she said her name I couldn't place her. Did you know that we all pronounced her name wrong all these years? Sorry about the Agota. It is interesting in that this memoriam was written and should be read again during multiple plays of The Eagles Peaceful Easy Feeling. Jim always did like to play songs over and over again. I could wrote more but it becomes time to go. I will see you again. Love always Jim

  • Cathy, words cannot express the void your passing has left in our lives. You were the glue that kept all us old northern friends connected and we have spent the past year floundering without you at the helm. I can just hear you now "Smarten Up Already V..." Yes, I do hear you. You are often in our thoughts and the tears still flow, like right now, but more often now in relation to some hilarious tidbit we are recalling, usually at your expense. One of my favourites is still you losing the cooked turkey off the 3-wheeler on the ice on the way to the club hall while Jim was driving. Dear friend, you are so very much missed every day. Jim, congratulations on your retirement. We'll have to get together. Love Valinda & Jerry - Posted by: Valinda & Jerry (Friends) on: Feb 04, 2013

  • It's so hard to beleive it's been a year since you left us. You are in my thoughts so often. So many good memories. We keep in contact with Jim and facebook quite a bit. It's wonderful how everyone still connects on facebook and tells you of their triumphs and successes. We carry you with us always. Take care Jim, enjoy your well deserved retirement and never forget your friends in Winnipeg as you travel the world. Keep in touch. Don't forget to drop by for one of Jason's great steaks on the Green Egg this summer. Love Debbie, Jason and family. - Posted by: Debbie Kolaski (Friend) on: Feb 04, 2013
