Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMRS. LENORE KATHLEEN BARTLETT Of Mattawa and formerly of Sundridge May 15, 1923 - February 1, 2013 It is with sadness that we announce the death of Lenore Bartlett (nee Fraser) at the age of 89. She was predeceased by Brock, her beloved husband of 61 years. Lenore is survived by her siblings Grace (Macklin deceased), Karol (Bob), Donald (Maureen) and sister-in-spirit Mary Berrill (Al deceased). She will be sorely missed by sons David (Cathy), Tom (Lynn) and Gordon (Monika); grandchildren Erin (Mark), Elaine (Nico), Robin (Marco), Emma (James), Fraser (Sophie), Karl, Konrad, Kurt and of course all of the great-grandchildren as well as loving nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and members of the extended family. She will be remembered fondly by friends in Pine Falls, Sundridge, at the Empire Living Centre in North Bay and the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa. Lenore was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on May 15, 1923 to Isobel (nee Warman) and Karl Fraser. She was not just a great provider but the great connector and the family historian. She had an uncanny and sweet ability to find connection between even the most distant strangers. It was a remarkable trait. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the Empire, the Algonquin Nursing Home, and the Palliative Care unit at the Mattawa General Hospital. Arrangements are being handled privately with the family and a celebration of her life will be held sometime after the snow is gone. Memorial donations to Esprit Place Family Resource Centre in Parry Sound would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge, ON. (705) 384-5802 Online condolences may be made at www.opatovskyfuneralhome.com

"B" was supposed to be older than me. Worked out the other way round, I am one day older as of Feb. 10, 1951. Our mothers never let us forget, especially on Sadie Hawkins Day. Spend many, many mornings at Lenore's house on the way to school and then through university summers. Lenore is eternal. Condolences to "B", Tom and Gordon. - Posted by: Leslie Sharpe (friend of family) on: Feb 08, 2013

I was saddened to hear about Lenore. She was a wonderful friend to my mother, Muriel MacDonald (D. 3rd Jan 2007) and treasured by my brother David (Halifax, N.S.) and I. Our visits to Sundridge always included time with Brock and Lenore whose company we enjoyed on many occasions. Lenore was an amazing communicator and a wonderful example to younger generatons. It was always a pleasure to converse with her whether in person or on the phone and to benefit from her wise words. My thoughts are with her family at this time. Lenore was compassionate. She cared for all. My last contact with her stated her condolences on my Dad's passing. She elaborated her appreciation of the Pipe Band as well as her own love of the music and the arts in general. Personally, I will never forget the infamous RED door as well as both your Mom n' Dad's appreciation to enjoy the MTS Centre venues. Both your Mom n' Dad cared/and loved all of you significantly. She is now at peace and bare in mind fully appreciated as well as admired. Condolences, Bon - Posted by: Bonnie Lenton (nee: MacLeod) (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2013

Sorry to see this notice - another significant influence in times-past Pine Falls. I recall her enjoyment of the arts and especially Shakespeare, and her invitation to our English class to visit the house to hear a recording - but which play? I don't remember! A lovely lady. - Posted by: Iris Gold Rountree (Pine Falls friend) on: Feb 05, 2013
