SANDRA CAROL KING (nee HENDERSON) With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sandra, our mother, grandmother, and sister-in-law on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 70 years. Sandra will be deeply missed and cherished by her children Todd (Edith), Scott (Kristen), Stacey (John); beloved grandchildren Robert and Jason, Steffany and Michael, Julia and Adam, and sister-in-law Linda (Harv). She was predeceased by her husband, Ken King in 1998, and was the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by her parents and sister. On May 1, 1942 Sandra was born in Winnipeg. She was a selfless and devoted mother to her three children, giving all her time and resources to ensuring their success. She later worked for the Tri-Diocesan Stewardship Office at Anglican Centre. Sandra was very involved with her church throughout her life teaching Sunday School for many years, loving all of her church kids. She volunteered throughout her life, at North Kildonan Community Club as the Canteen Manager, at Chief Peguis Junior High School as a library assistant and more recently volunteered at Concordia Hospital gift shop. Sandra loved spending time at the cabin and with her grandchildren, and nothing gave her more pleasure than reading to her grandchildren. Later in life she was able to travel to Mexico, England, Paris, Japan, Germany, China and her favourite place, Hawaii. On Saturday, February 9, 2013 Sandra's Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank the Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their extraordinary compassion and love, as they cared for Sandra. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra's memory may be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, the Winnipeg Humane Society, or St. Stephen's Anglican Church. Richard Wojcik, Funeral Director of Wojcik's Funeral Chapel Crematorium, is in care of arrangements, 204-897-4665. "We love and miss you Mom. Until we meet again."
