DENNIS CLAYTON MARTIN Peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013, Dennis passed away at the Tuxedo Villa at the age of 74 years. He was born in Estevan, SK on March 13, 1938. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Edith (nee Evanston) Martin and a brother Ronald Vern Martin. He is survived by his two sisters, Cheryl Babin (Morris J. Babin) of Kenner, LA, and Lorraine Hurwitz (Dr. Lowell M. Hurwitz) of New Orleans, LA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dennis worked for the Department of Supply and Services until his retirement in 1993. When Dennis was in his early 20s, his mother passed away prematurely, leaving him to care for his Father, a disabled war veteran (Second World War). Dennis was a happy-go-lucky humanitarian and enjoyed his camaraderie with his Dad. They became the best of friends and when his Dad passed on, Dennis lost some of his zest for life. A celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at the Tuxedo Villa and also to Ralph and Delores Gammelseter for the care and companionship provided to Dennis over the past years. The family greatly appreciated their efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. As Dennis would say, "hat's all Folks".
