LLOYD (CHAPPY) HENRY ADOLPH
Born: Jan 14, 1938
Date of Passing: Feb 03, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD (CHAPPY) HENRY ADOLPH January 14, 1938 - February 3, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd at the age of 75, at Concordia Hospital. Left behind to miss, love, and remember him is the love of his life, his wife Frances, his son Shane, his grandchildren Kaiden and Kennedy, and his sister Corinne (Ken) and many more family and friends. Lloyd was a mail handler at Canada Post for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. If you had to choose words to describe Lloyd there would be many but gentle, caring, loving, kind, unselfish, proud, and sensitive were but to name a few. Lloyd was the best husband, father and grandfather anyone could imagine. Lloyd always put his wife and family and their needs before his own and we were blessed that he was ours. Lloyd could not wait for summers to come where you could find him enjoying a Goldeye game, sitting outside listening to his radio or chatting with his neighbours, or just kicking back enjoying a drink. Lloyd loved the fact that the Jets were back, and spent his winter enjoying them from his front row seat - his recliner. Be it winter or summer Lloyd's happiest days were spent with his precious grandchildren. Lloyd was their biggest fan, never missing a baseball, soccer or hockey game, swimming lessons, and school concerts. Lloyd loved to joke around with his grand-children, and be a part of everything they did. In Lloyd's last few years his health had diminished and he had such a difficult time with mobility but those of us closest to Lloyd knew that it was his incredible love for his grandchildren that kept him fighting to be here with us enjoying the family he loved. Cremation has taken place and we would like to invite you to join us in a celebration of his life on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. A special thank you is extended to all the family and friends for all your loving care and support given at a time of need; you know who you all are. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lloyd to the Children's Hospital, Red Cross, and / or the Humane Society. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Frances, Gerry Moffat (Krause) sent me Lloyd's orbituary from Passages in the Free Press. I am so sorry for your loss and 75 is quite young these days. I remember when you and Lloyd were first dating and he would come to Walther League outings. I think the last time that we met was when I was in Winnipeg - when your Mom and mine were in the Concordia Hospital in the same area. My how time flies by. Lloyd was such an easy going person and he was "genuine". May God give you and your family the blessings of comfort and strength. My sincerest sympathy, Frances - from Linda Burry (nee Hildebrand) - Posted by: Linda Burry (nee Hildebrand) (Childhood friend through Holy Cross church) on: Feb 11, 2013
