Our sincere condolences with the loss of your husband and father and grandfather. Joe and I and all our grandchildren will fondly remember him as "Mr. Potato Man" for all the years he lovingly tended my dad's (Mr. Overwater) garden plot near the creek. We will keep you in our Prayers for strength to see you through the difficult times ahead. - Posted by: Joe and Maryanne Schers (neighbor) on: Feb 11, 2013

On behalf of Terry, Andrea, Jeff, and myself as well as the ministry at Saskatoon Native Circle Ministry I would like to extend our sincere sympathy and condolences to Carole and her children and grandchildren. Ken and Carole have always been treasured friends, mentoring, nurturing and supporting my family and I through my marriage and family, my call to ministry, my early ministry at Anishinabe Fellowship Center and subsequent call to SNCM. Their support and friendship encouraged and enabled me to begin and keep on doing work for our Lord. When we needed prayers and guidance Ken was always there for us. His life and ministry was a beacon testifying to his strong faith and call. We saw first hand how he made the ministry at St. John's come alive and grow, so we put our trust in him. Ken was a blessing to me and my extended family, and we were very fortunate to have the Innes family come along when they did. As colleagues we had much common ground and many interesting debates but always shared in a passion for advocating and raising awareness and financial support for mission work at Anishinabe Fellowship Center and for native ministry across Canada. As friends, we had many laughs and good times curling in the Chaplains Curling league and in many other bonspiels together. Is was a big loss to leave the pastoral care, friendship and fun in Winnipeg all behind to follow God's call to SNCM in Saskatoon. There has never been anything quite like it and so special since. He will live on in our hearts. May the Holy Spirit be with Carole and the family, and may the conviction and confidence in the resurrection and eternal life so central to Ken's faith and witness sustain them during these difficult days and in the years ahead. Wish we could be there in person to grieve with you and share stories and happy memories and pay our respects to a very dear and respected colleague and friend. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. and we send all our love across the miles. Sincere sympathy, Rev. Stewart, Terry, Andrea & Jeff Folster & Family - Posted by: Rev. Ken was a passionate minister to our congregation. He performed the ceremony for my wedding and the baptism of my first child. He gave my husband and me a lifelong memory of our wedding day when he forgot our married name upon our pronunciation as husband and wife. It was a funny moment for a funny man. He touched so many in this way. - Posted by: Charlene Eckert () on: Feb 09, 2013
