MARY WALLMAN (nee REMPEL) April 2, 1932 - February 7, 2013 Peacefully and with her family by her side, Mary Martha Wallman passed away at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, after a dignified battle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilhelm and Anna Rempel, brother John and step-granddaughter, Christie Brown. Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dave, children Kurt (Heather, stepson Jeremy), Carleen Cooke (Doug, stepsons Nathan and Noah), Eric (Brenda, daughter Kayla) and Carrie Rose (Michael). She is also survived by siblings Will (Winona), Frieda, Margarete (Peter) and sister-in-law Marlene Giesbrecht (John), and numerous extended family members. Mary was born in Winnipeg and raised in Domain, MB. In 1951, she was baptized on confession of faith at Springstein Mennonite Church. She married Dave in 1955, and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Mary will be remembered for her warm laughter, strong faith, compassion for others and her famous homemade bread and paska. Mom became a member of The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg family in July 2011. We will always be grateful for the compassionate care she received there. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford St., Winnipeg, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will take place at the church half an hour prior to the service. Interment in LaSalle Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo St. N, Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2N6.

  • We are so sorry that we missed Mary's funeral. We have such fond memories of her. We have thought about you all over the last few years and wondered how everyone was doing.
