Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON KASPER SHAW June 17, 1930 February 12, 2013 Peacefully after a brief struggle with cancer, Gordon passed away on February 12, 2013 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82. Gordon is survived by his wife of 61 years Sherrie, sons Ross (Shelley), Glen, Neil (Val), and daughter Susan; grandchildren Shanna (Graham), Braden (Blaine), Krysta (Dean), Breanne, Holly, Ryan (Alana) and Jason (Ashley); seven great-grandchildren Avery, Bodhi, Riley, Scarlett, Nolan, Kaelyn and Marek. Gordon is also survived by brother Peter (Elsie), sister Mary Ann (Gary) Maxted, sister-in-law Joan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Mary, brother Don and infant brother Frankie. Gordon was born on June 17, 1930 in Winnipeg Beach, MB. He started working at a young age on the Boardwalk in Winnipeg Beach and upon moving to Winnipeg he worked at various jobs before starting his 35 year career with CN Rail retiring in 1986. During retirement Gordon enjoyed going to the cottage in Matlock, fishing, taking long walks and "board meetings" at Altos. Gordon was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the family dogs. A special thank you to Erin at the Health Sciences Centre and all staff on 3W at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. As well, we would like to thank Dawn, Laura, Lisa and Elke from Home Care for their kindness. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. Viewing one hour prior to the service. Donations can be made in Gordon's name to Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba, 2109 Portage Avenue. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. I will remember Uncle Gord cooking dinner for David, Jackie, Dennis and myself at the cottage in Matlock. A great big plate of spaghetti wth meatballs the size of a softball, and always delivered with the biggest smile. Thanks Uncle Gord, for making me feel like one of your own.
