At the age of 21, this adventurous young Scottish gal decided Canada was the place to be, packed her trunk and set sail. Lloyd was born in Sanford, attended Sanford Consolidated School. After graduating, Lloyd went on to the U. of M. where he received his Bachelor of Science in May of 1954 and took over the family farm in August of that year. Two years later, Lloyd and Betty met and married on November 24, 1956, beginning their life together and raising their family on the farm. Lloyd and Betty treasured many lifelong friendships and enjoyed being a part of the community of Sanford. November they celebrated 56 years together. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting and always had a book at her side.
