HALYNA (HELEN) HAGGARTY (nee PRYCHUN) December 5, 1927 - February 13, 2013 It is with great sorrow that the family of Halyna (Helen) Haggarty announce her passing early in the morning of February 13, 2013, in the Palliative Care ward at Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg. Following a recent diagnosis of cancer, Mom chose, as was her way, to live her life without burdening others and remained independant as long as she could. She was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Helen leaves behind her three children Nesta (Brian Bradley), Jody (Jennifer Houston), Kevin (Gina) and three grandchildren Rhea (Calgary), Kati (Fredricton) and Alex (Brisbane, Australia). Her loving companion for the last several years, was Albert Karpoff who would light up her face whenever he was present and was a great source of happiness and love. Additionally, she leaves behind one sister Vera Kotowich (Matt) and brother Borden (Luba) Prychun and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by two husbands, Nestor Topolniski and Earl Patrick Haggarty as well as her parents Katherine and Nicholas and siblings Myron, Julia, Anne and Peter. Cremation will take place and a memorial reception honouring Helen will be held in the future. At that time a longer obituary will be published.
