ELLENORA EFFIE MUIR June 23, 1926 - February 14, 2013 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Nora Muir on February 14, 2013, at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Saskatoon, SK. She was 86 years of age. Nora was born near Kenville, MB, to John and Elizabeth (nee Forsyth) Clark. She was the fifth of 10 children. Nora attended elementary school at Pretty Valley district school and high school in Kenville. She married Maurice Muir in 1944, and together they had four children, Allan, Elaine, Terry and Gordon. In 1951, the family moved from the Swan Valley to The Pas MB, and in 1954, moved to Winnipeg. Winnipeg was home for Nora. She raised her family there and was very proud to have a 25 year career with the Manitoba Department of Highways. Nora was passionate about travel and after retirement traveled with friends to many parts of the world. In 2003, Nora moved to Saskatoon to be closer to family and resided in The Palisades. She often commented on the compassionate care she received at The Palisades while living in her suite and in the assisted living unit. Nora will be missed by all who knew her and never forgotten by her children and their families; Al (Myrna) Muir of Saskatoon, Elaine (Bob) Josephson of Benito, MB, Gordon (Barb) Muir of Victoria, her grandchildren; Sarah (Tim) Boyd, Dana (Darrick) Hunter, Chris (Catriona) Muir, Joshua (Carol Bowser) Muir, Jeremy Muir, Kris (Deanna) Josephson, Kaare Josephson, Kara (Shawn Huebsch) Josephson, her great-grandchildren and her sisters, Mary Wilson of Swan River and Phyllis Webster of Cranbrook and brother-in-law, Sandy MacKay, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nora was predeceased by her parents, John and Elizabeth (Forsyth) Clark, her husband, Maurice Muir, her daughter Terry Muir and her siblings, Jack, Alex, Jim, Dick, Alfred, Margaret and Alice. Arrangements made by Mourning Glory Funeral Services with service and internment at a later date in Swan River, MB. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nora's name to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in loving memory of her daughter Terry Muir.
