S. JEAN AMOS (nee JOHNSON) January 26, 1951 - February 18, 2013 Jean slipped peacefully away under the care of the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her father Richard, Jean leaves to mourn her husband Steve, son Jared, mother Betty, siblings Doris, Ken, Linda, Faye, Brian, Sheila, Kathy, Tracey, Lisa and their families in both Winnipeg and Victoria, BC. Those that knew Jean knew her as a loving and caring person. Her inner strength and fortitude allowed her to forge through everything that the military threw at her as the wife of a member of the Canadian Forces over her 38 year marriage. Jean had a great zest for life and loved being with her many friends and family. It was often difficult for her, being alone and raising her son while her husband was deployed overseas. The family would like to thank her best friend and schoolmate Pat Wojcik in Calgary, her sister Faye, friends Mel Perry and Kathy Hansen for their support over the years. We would also like to thank the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital for their professionalism and consistent dedication under arduous conditions. Our thanks go out to you. A private service will be held at a later date in both Winnipeg and Victoria. Friends are requested to send donations to their favourite charity, in lieu of flowers or cards.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My heart is broken. After 55 years of friendship I can't believe I'll never see her again. RIP Jean. - Posted by: Pat Wojcik (Friend) on: Feb 24, 2013

  • Jean was a straight shooter. She liked to laugh and spend time with her friends. Jean was a sensitive and caring person who's world centered on her home and family. We talked often on the phone durnig Steve's last deployement in Afghanistan. Jean was a trooper but that was a time would take a toll on anyone. Her service done: I wish only that she rest in peace. - Posted by: Mike Amos (Brother in Law) on: Feb 24, 2013
