DOROTHY (NANNY) HAGEN (nee BROWNING) January 25, 1923- February 7, 2013 With her granddaughter by her side, and her family nearby, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre after a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Ida May and Joseph Browning, her sister Gladess, and brothers, Bob, Harry, Manley, Fred, Joe, Johnny, and Clarence. She leaves to mourn her daughter Colleen (Garth); son Joe; grandchildren, Elisabeth (Ken) and Keith (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Kierra, Dayna, Fox and Rowan and many family members and friends. Mom was gifted with a keen sense of being able to identify what would make someone happy, which was what made her such a successful salesperson at the Hudson Bay Company, where she was employed from 1949 to 1959. Afterwards, she devoted her time and care to her children. She loved her family and would always put them ahead of herself. She also loved to laugh and loved her black coffee every morning. For the past ten years of her life, Mom lived at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre where they treated her like a Queen. The family would like to send a special thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff at the Golden Door for their care and support. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place. No formal service will be held, however, an interment will take place on May 11, 2013 at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. A time will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Siloam Mission. Mom, your love for life and for laughter will always be missed but never forgotten. We have been blessed to have had you in our lives, and we will forever hold you in our hearts. We love you and miss you immensely.
