Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My deepest sympathies to Patrick and the Doyle family. - Posted by: Jean-Yves Belzileje (Kandahar friend) on: Mar 01, 2013

  • Me deepest condolences to the Doyle family. Lannie was my roommate and friend in Kandahar, Afghanistan, she was a very kind lady. We laughed and shared many great evenings, even a pyjama fashion show in our tent one evening. She was also a great worker, she ran parts for our Lems Dept, and we would all smile when we saw her coming. Thanks for being part of my life Lannie, you made a difference. You will be sorely missed. :-( - Posted by: Jo-Anne Bisson (Friend and room mate) on: Feb 28, 2013

  • In 2008 I had the pleasure of meeting both Lannie and Vince in Kandahar. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Doyle family. - Posted by: Lance Peters (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2013

  • I was lucky enough to spend my childhood around my "Aunt Wannie". We shared many holidays together. Aunt Lannie always made me feel extra special on my birthday, even though it was her own son's birthday. She continued to tease me into adulthood about my insistence on making the birthday mine alone lol (sorry Pat) She was so warm and caring, she always made me feel right at home in her home. I won't forget the many sessions I spent at her coffee table playing with her Matryoshka dolls. Her Christmas trees were magical to me as a child! And around that time of year, I could always be sure to enjoy an ample supply of naniamo bars at her house; without a doubt she made the best naniamo bars. She had an awesome sense of humor and loved to laugh. I saw her this past summer and there was something so comforting about her smile, the hug and hearing her call me "soupy sales" just like she always did.... She loved her family and always beamed over Zak, literally glowed. She took special care to comfort me when I needed it most. I love you Aunt Lannie xo - Posted by: Sarah (Niece ) on: Feb 27, 2013

  • We are so sad to hear of Lannies' passing. We only had the privilege of speaking to Lannie once on Christmas day 2012, however we have had many conversations with her beloved son Sean Michael (whom we consider a very dear friend) and have heard much about Lannie. Without any doubt her family was her world and her zest for life endeared her to all. You will be missed dearly Lannie. Our deepest sympathies to Vince, Patrick and family, Sean Michael and all the family and friends who will suffer from the loss of this wonderful lady.
