Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH MAUREEN FOSTER (nee COULTHARD) With sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Bess) Foster in Chemainus, BC, on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at age 98. She was predeceased by her father Thomas Frederick Coulthard, mother Adelaide (nee Huddy) and her beloved husband Charles (Alf) Foster. She will be deeply missed by sons David of North Vancouver/Ladysmith and Roger, daughter-in-law Kathy and grandson Richard. Bess was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, She grew up on Armstrong Ave. in West Kildonan; and spent summers as a teenager with friends at Victoria Beach. Bess and Alf married in 1941, in Vancouver. During her Winnipeg years, Bess enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, travelling and visiting with family and friends; in 1958, Bess took the boys for a memorable six week tour of Europe on a shoestring budget. Bess and Alf retired to Ladysmith, BC, in 1976, where Alf built their house. Cremation has taken place. A service in her memory will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Rd., Duncan, BC. No flowers. Dear Roger, Kathy and Dave On behalf of the Bernard Family in Windsor, our sincere condolences. Bess demonstrated great spirit and obvious adventure (I loved the story about travelling to Europe!)
