EUGENE JOB August 13, 1933 - February 28, 2013 Peacefully on February 28, 2013, Eugene Job passed away surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 58 years Evelyn; his children Valerie (Rob) Tiede, Jeff (Colleen) Job, and Shelley Davie; his grandchildren Melissa, Ryan, Stacy, Chris, and Rebecca; and a large extended family. Dad was born in Latowicz, Poland, in 1933. After a difficult childhood living through the Second World War, he immigrated with his family to Canada in 1946. They moved to a farm in Winnipeg Manitoba, and attended McDermot Ave. Baptist Church, where he accepted Jesus as his Saviour and was baptized in 1950. It was at this time that he began working as an apprentice in the heating industry and eventually started his own business. He met his wife Evelyn at church and they were married in 1955. They had a daughter Val in 1958, and later adopted two children, Jeff in 1968, and Shelley in 1970. Dad continued to work hard, and finally retired in 1994. He faced many health challenges in recent years, but never complained and always had a smile. Dad was passionate about his Christian faith and shared with others what God had done for him. He was always generous in helping those around him. He enjoyed hunting and golf, and always wanted to be on the go. He enjoyed giving a firm, hearty handshake and was always ready for a good laugh. Dad loved to play games (especially Rook), and always amused our family with his humorous catchphrases. He impacted the lives of countless people throughout his life, and was a Godly leader for his family to follow. A special thanks to the Emergency and ICU staff at Grace Hospital, and Dr. Kroeker, Dr. Shelton, and Dr. H. DaSilva for their care and support. A celebration of Dad's life will take place on Tuesday, March 5 at Victory Baptist Church, 3428 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with a viewing at 12:00 p.m. and a service at 1:00 p.m. Chapel Lawn 204-855-9715

My deepest sympathy to the Job family on the loss of Eugene. He was a truly great and humble man. Over the years that I worked for him he always made me feel like family and was always concerned. When he worked together with Roman for me for a short period he would always check up and give pointers whenever possible. I will always cherish his memory and I know that Dad was waiting for him to feel that firm handshake after almost 39 years. I know that they are together again in Heaven. - Posted by: Murray Fiks (Friend) on: Mar 08, 2013

Our deepest sympathies to you Evelyn and your entire family. We recall the many good times we had at McDermot. The two of you were great examples to us in our married life together. We also did some business together and I always found Eugene to be fair and honest in his business dealings. Eugene also encouraged me to become the Finance Chair at church. Eugene was a good man and will be dearly missed. I have full confidence he resides with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I missed having my hand crushed with his "death grip" handshakes. He always had a smile and a laugh for my bad jokes. - Posted by: Rodney and Debbie Neufeld (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2013

Mr. and Mrs. Job sat behind us during many church services and he was so kind to our family. Although our baby Jake (who shares the same birthday with Mr. Job) distracted him quite a bit! Mr. and Mrs. Job love babies:) My son Eli remembers him as the man who would give him a loonie, a pat on the head and a "good boy" every so often during handshaking time. Mr. Job will be remembered by us as the sharp dressed man with the kindest heart, biggest smile, easiest laugh and strongest handshake! (Actually he was very gentle with the ladies!) We will miss Mr. Job he was a lovely man. Our condolences, prayers and love to Mrs. Job, Jeff, Colleen, Chris, Becky and Shelley. - Posted by: Keri Ramsdale (Fellow church member) on: Mar 05, 2013
