CHARLOTTE LATINECZ April 26, 1926 - February 26, 2013 Courageously, after complications following surgery, Charlotte Latinecz passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 86 years. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children Linda (Mike) and Les, and grandchildren Justin, Alyssa and Braden. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Leslie in 2004. Charlotte was born in Yugoslavia and moved to Hungary where she grew up. She attended Finishing School where she learned the skills to be the supreme homemaker she became. She met and married her husband Leslie in Budapest. Charlotte lived in Budapest during the Second World War while Dad was enlisted and fought for the freedom of many Jews. During the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Charlotte and Leslie fled to Vienna, Austria and immigrated to Winnipeg on January 21, 1960, where they spent the rest of their lives. Charlotte devoted her life to her family, always ensuring that everyone's needs were met. She loved to cook and took great pride in running the household. She was very artistic and loved to create with her hands. Charlotte and Leslie loved to travel, to open their home to friends and parties, and were actively involved in multicultural activities. She enjoyed music, reading and watching tv. The family would like to thank the staff in the ER and on the 4th Floor, Unit 3 at the Seven Oaks Hospital for the care she received during her last week, in particular to nurse Janet who went above and beyond; the Home Care staff in St. Vital and Tuxedo who entered her life every day in the last few years; and to the many family and friends who have offered support and compassion through the difficult times. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 3M3.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Charlotte and her late husband were long time neighbors and we watched our children grow up together. We have missed them dearly since they moved off the street. Thinking fondly of all the memories of both children and their Mom and Dad. So sorry that I cannot make the funeral due to a medical issue. Take care, Linda and Les. - Posted by: Patricia Wachs (Long time Neighbour) on: Mar 03, 2013
