Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) FREDRICK MEADE August 7, 1932 - February 25, 2013 Early February 25, 2013 our beloved Jim peacefully left this world and was greeted in heaven by his precious Kaitlyn, and by all those he loved so much who went before him. Jim is survived by his wife Thora, his children Elisa (Brian), Ryan (Sharon), and Cheryl (Brent), grandchildren Brianne and Ariana; Jayme, Carter and Thomas; and Rory, Darilyn, Thane and Allister. He was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Kaitlyn and many family members who he loved very dearly. Jim accomplished many things in his life but his proudest accomplishments were his children. He adored them, as well as their families, and was the best father any child could ask for. His love for them was returned to him in so many ways and I know he would want them to know how proud he always was of them. Our life together was amazing to say the least. We spent 41 years together, sharing love, tears, good times and bad but we truly loved each other and accepted all that came with being together 24-7, 365 days a year. A lifetime shared with the most gentle, caring, considerate man a woman could ask for. He spent many years working for the Workers Compensation Board and was always very proud of his job. After retirement he worked for a short time for Avis Rent A Car and so loved the people there. Jim's health started to fail him a few years after retirement but he always had a smile for everyone that he encountered. His love for children will never be forgotten. From Jim, to all of you that he left behind: always remember to love each other, never let a day go by that you don't tell the people you love that you truly do love them, and like he always said to the kids: remember, if you take care of the little things in life, the big things will take care of themselves . Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral but a small gathering to remember Jim and his beautiful life here on earth will take place at a later date.

To Thora and family go my heartfelt condolences on Jim's passing. He is now at peace and without pain at last, but I know you will miss him. I know Jim as a very kind and gentle person and I am not surprised to know he loved children and they loved him. I have missed being able to visit with him when I've returned to Winnipeg these past several years and as sorry his health suffered so shortly following his retirement.
