ROSE ANDERSON August 29, 1920 - February 28, 2013 With her loving son and daughter at her side, Rose passed away following a brief illness at Concordia Hospital at the age of 92. Rose will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Gordon of Lethbridge AB, daughter Carol (Ernie) Knoblauch and step-grandchildren Eric, Jessica, Austin, Brandt, along with many relatives and friends. In 2009, she was predeceased by her husband Leonard of almost 60 years. Rose outlived all her siblings: Harry, Kay, Lil, Eva and half-siblings Fred, Peter, Sam and Marie. Rose was born in Sapton, MB, in 1920. Over the years, she worked at Paulin Chambers, The Bay, and ultimately retired from Eaton's at the age of 65, after which Rose and Len took many trips and cruises. Rose loved cooking, baking, canning, gardening, five-pin/lawn/carpet bowling, and spending time at the Gimli cabin. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Concordia Hospital and Concordia Place where Rose was a resident. Many thanks to Minister Nancy Sanders, family, and friends for their support. Memorial service will be held at Immanuel United Church, 755 Golspie St., Winnipeg at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel United Church or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Dear Carol and Ernie, Our deepest sympathy. Rose was such a beautiful and loving lady. Every day that we came by to see the Roses she had a warm smile to greet us and in her gentle hearted manner, conversations began. She always wanted to help me with whatever problem of the day I was working on. Your mom always had lots of excellent advice, especially when it came to baking and cooking. I have not been able to make a carrot cake, since one of those visits, without thinking of her advice on making it. God is now so lucky to have such special Roses in his home. All our love. - Posted by: Shiryl and Gord O'Brien (friend) on: Mar 13, 2013

Carol and Gordon, my thoughts are with you today. I have so many great memories of Aunty Rosey; visits at Baba's, gardening at our house, playing at the cabin in Gimli, gatherings at their home in Winnipeg, amongst many others. Take care, we will visit soon. - Posted by: Tricia & Madison Skibo (great and great-great nieces) on: Mar 07, 2013

I remember your mother as a passionate and proud parent to both of you, Gordon and Carol. She dedicated herself to your family and enthusiastically lived life. Your mother greeted me with a warm smile and always tried to make me welcome in your home. Treasure your memories. I’ve moved from Winnipeg several years ago and did not know of your father’s passing. Best wishes to you both during this sad time. - Posted by: Tricia Trottier (Childhood friend of Gordon and Carol.) on: Mar 06, 2013

East Kildonan had a bundle of long term fine people within it, your Mother "Rose" was indeed one of them. My Grandmother always spoke so highly of her and often had fresh vegetables that came compliments of Rose's garden. I'm happy to have met her. - Posted by: Shannon Thomas ( Kathleen Green's Grandaughter) on: Mar 06, 2013

Aunt Rose was a very special lady. She was always baking her "dainties", or out in her beautiful garden. She was a very giving person and family was very important to her. She never forgot any of us and we will never forget her. My heart goes out to all the family. - Posted by: Phyllis Gardiner (Niece) on: Mar 05, 2013

Carol, I have great memories of your Mom on Dunrobin Ave. She was a wonderful lady and always had a smile and wave for me whenever I'd see her out in her garden. She made the best caramel balls in East Kildonan on halloween! May your memories of your Mom bring more smiles than tears and remember that she will always be with you. Sending prayers to you and your family. - Posted by: Lorrie Rogalka (friend) on: Mar 04, 2013
