Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELARDIA (HELEN) CHARRETTE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt, Helen Charrette (nee Danyluik) at the Vita Personal Care Home on March 4, 2013 at the age of 92. Helen was predeceased by her husband Leo, her parents, her brother John and sister Jean. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children and their spouses John (Caroline), Cecile (Andre), Dennis (Danielle), and Jenny (Don), her nine grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren. Helen had a zest for life, a quick wit and a very generous heart. She cherished her family and their visits over the years. Her most precious moments were those many times when she was visited by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to her visits from family and friends, who were always treated with good cooking, good stories and lots of laughs. Mom was passionate about cooking and worked 16 years at the Vita Hospital as a cook, head cook and dietician. After her husband Leo passed, she served as a volunteer cook for the Vita Friendship Centre for almost 16 years. She dearly loved her Wednesday lunches, cribbage games and friends at the Centre. In 2007 Helen had a serious injury and became a member of the extended family at the Vita Personal Care Home (PCH). In spite of her injury, she maintained a positive attitude and stayed involved in the activities of the PCH and really liked her bingo. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Vita PCH for the loving care and family atmosphere provided over the near six year period that she was a resident. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services and a celebration of Helen's life will be held at the Vita Funeral Home (204-425-3114) on Monday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m.

My deepest condolences to Jenny,Dennis,Cecile,John and their families. As a teenage I spent many days at their home with my friend Jenny. Mrs. Charrette always greeted me at the door with a huge smile and welcomed me into her home with open arms. She was always preparing food and would make sure we ate before we went out. She truly was a very giving, caring person and I will cherish her memory forever. - Posted by: Vicky Doberstein (Smoliak) (Family Friend) on: Mar 10, 2013
