GERTRUDE PEARL BELL Gertrude Pearl Bell, beloved wife of Edward F. Bell of 65 years, passed suddenly on March 6, 2013, in her 92nd year. Before moving down east, she had enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild for many years in Winnipeg. Since settling in Oshawa in November, she was able to spend many joyful hours with the eastern grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile, warmth and signature wink will be greatly missed by her four children (and their spouses), Rhea (Barry), Wayne (Lorraine), Don (Terrie) and Rick, eight grandchildren, Shannon, Shari, Kari, Celine, Steven, Richard, Michelle and Matthew, and five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Connor, Kaylee, Ben and Keeley. She will be remembered for her years as a nurse; her work for the church; and the many friends of her children for whom she could always fit an extra plate at the dinner table and often a bed for a night or months. A memorial service will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E, Oshawa, ON, L1H 1B6 on Saturday, March 23, 2013. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., service at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Winnipeg Foundation. To place an online condolence, visit www.armstrongfuneralhome.net.
