LIONEL BRISSON September 26, 1943 - March 8, 2013 After a lengthy battle with heart disease, the family is saddened by the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Lionel leaves behind his wife Anne, his children Lynn (Jim), Joey (Julie) and his grandchildren Chantel, Kassie, Renee, Kara, Luc and Nicolas. Also mourning his loss are Anne's children Heide and Andrea (Jack) and many other family and friends, too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his parents Gedeon and Irene and son-in-law Arthur. Lionel loved spending time outside. In earlier years, with his family at Lee River, and later on his deck in Morris and wintering in Weslaco, Texas. Lionel owned and operated JB Sports and Brisson Sportswear where he specialized in custom-made snowmobile suits and club jackets. For many years his custom-suits were sought after from all over Canada and the US by racers as well as enthusiasts. Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Morris General Hospital for their care and compassion. TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVED ME When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that we had so many years I gave you my love you can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it's time I travelled on alone So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust It's only for awhile that we must part So bless the memories within your heart I won't be far away for life goes on So if you need me call and I will come Though you can't see me or touch me I'll be near And if you listen with your heart you'll hear All of my love around you soft and clear And then when you must come this way alone I'll greet you with a smile and say Welcome Home

  • We are very saddened to hear that Lionel didn't make it, but I guess God had other plans for him. We enjoyed visiting with him and Anne in Texas every year, starting off the New Year at their place, happy get together here & there and going dancing at different parks. But, we could tell that his health was slowly declining this year. We will miss his smiling face around. Our sincere sympathy goes out to Anne, Joey, Lynn and families. - Posted by: Harvey & Noella Gagné (Harvey's cousin) on: Mar 11, 2013
