CHERLYN SHELL December 24, 1950 - March 5, 2013. Sadly, Cherlyn (Cherl) Shell (nee Mazepa) passed away while surrounded by her family. Cherl leaves behind her loving husband Jerry; her children Nicole and Kory and stepson Jason; siblings-in-law Joey Shell (Vijay), Faye Singer (Harvey) and Shelley Sasley; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. Cherl was predeceased by her mother Sally; father Peter; brother Wayne; as well as her parents-in-law Ida and Saul Shilowski; and brother-in-law Ken Sasley. Cherl had a passion for life, talking to her friends on the phone and travelling with her family and friends including regular trips to Las Vegas and winters in Hawaii. Cherl and Jerry shared a wonderful life and Cherl was most proud of her children Nicole and Kory, always encouraging and supporting them and ensuring that nothing ever got in the way of their success or happiness. Cherl will be remembered for her devotion and loyalty to her long list of very close friends, many of whom she had known for decades. She cherished weekend girls trips to see concerts, lunches out to celebrate birthdays, meetings with her bookclub and any trips that involved shopping. Cherl was a high spirited person with a tremendous determination to enjoy every day to the fullest. She went on five trips in the last eight months of her life even under the stress of months of chemotherapy treatments and failing health. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her. In keeping with Cherl's wishes, cremation has taken place and services were held on Friday, March 8, at Temple Shalom Synagogue. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancercare Manitoba can be made in Cherl's memory. Cherl will be truly missed and all that were graced with having her in their life are better for having known her.

Dear Jerry, Nicole and Kory: Cherlyn and I worked together over 30 years ago. It had been sometime since I saw her last. But Cherlyn was the type of friend that you did not have to see on a daily basis to secure your friendship. Whenever we did see each other I felt I was speaking with a true friend. I am so sorry for your loss. Darlene - Posted by: Darlene Grantham (Long time friend) on: Apr 07, 2013
