BRIAN ARONOVITCH Brian passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 after a determined battle with multiple infections and cancer. He fought long and hard, with courage and dignity and set an example for everyone. He never complained and never wanted anyone to feel bad for him. He is survived by Penny, his wife of 51 years, his children Drew (and Sara Devora), Fraser (and Marla), Lois (and Michael) and Steven (and Amy), his grandchildren Hindy (and Eli), Yehuda, Yehoshua, Rochel, Brocha, Shoshana, Mordechai, Chana Rivka, Moshe Ahron, Esther, Dovid, Tehila, Lee, Ben, Jamie, Rachel, Jaden, Lexi, great-grandson Dovid, and brother Don (and Beverly). Brian was born in Winnipeg and went to school at Sir John Franklin, River Heights, Kelvin and Gordon Bell. He entered the real estate business of Aronovitch Leipsic as the third generation, following his father Edgar J. (Juk) Aronovitch and his grandfather Abraham Herman Aronovitch who founded the firm in 1905. Brian had a distinguished career in commercial real estate and he was recently honoured by the Winnipeg Realtors Association for his 50 years of service. In recent years, Brian worked for several other firms including Avison Young at the time of his death. Brian has been described by his peers as the consummate professional. "He was so old school that he was never late for a meeting or appointment, always ethical and his word was his bond." "He was a class act and you could not find a finer person." "Brian was always a gentleman, courteous and a man of integrity. We will dearly miss him in the industry." Soon after entering the business world, Brian became active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce (the Jaycees) and spent many years on its Executive. He was a Winnipeg Jets Board Member when the Jets were owned by Winnipeg Enterprises. Further, he was a strong, lifelong supporter of the YMHA's "Sports Dinner" and worked tirelessly on the organizing committee for over 35 years. He was able to secure valuable NFL paraphernalia and two tickets to the Super Bowl in support of this Dinner. Wherever he was involved, Brian was respected for always standing up strongly for what he believed in. Funeral services were held February 26 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue where he was eulogized by his children and he would have been honoured by their loving words spoken aloud for all to hear. Pallbearers were Joshua Aronovitch, Lee Aronovitch, Eric Green, Scott Margolis, Billy Margolis, Cal Parks and Michael Powell. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Kowall, Peter Leipsic, Paul Olin, David Rosner and Elliott Saunders. The family wishes to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital (especially Sonia and Jimmy) and CancerCare Manitoba (especially Dr. M. Seftel) for their dedication and care. Brian, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, Rest in Peace and may your memory be a blessing. If family and friends wish, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of choice.

Dearest Penny. We are so saddened to learn of this tragic loss. You were wonderful neighbors and he was so helpful, stead fast and always there when needed. I only wish we could have returned to Winnipeg one more time to thank you and Brian for being the wonderful neighbors you were so many years ago. It was a rough time for us then and just knowing you were there gave us strength. We will never forget him, nor you.
