Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE MARCELLE DELISLE (née STEVENSON) Encircled by her loving family, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on March 18, 2013 at the Winnipeg Victoria Hospital after a lengthy battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was predeceased by her beloved brothers: Conrad Cutherbert (Bert) Stevenson and Rodney Stevenson, her parents Blanche (nee Leydier) and Henry R. Stevenson, and her former husband René A. Delisle. Mother will be sadly missed by her children: Bradley, Nadine, Dale (Cathy), Cindy Harry (Doug), Guy, Todd and Anita; her grandchildren: Amber (Scott), Brett, Holly (Joel), Shane, Sawyer, Lauren (Dale), Travis, Autumn and Ansylie, and great grandson Ryder, as well as her sister Diane Stevenson-Tarko (René), and many nieces and nephews. Mother, nicknamed "The Duchess", was born on January 16, 1932 in Kenora, Ontario and later moved to Winnipeg. Mother was beautiful and creative, with an exceptional soprano voice and a talent for painting, writing, music, sewing and design. She loved to design and make recital and Halloween costumes for her kids. Mother was a feisty, strong-willed woman who enjoyed life and lived it her way until the very end. She was fiercely independent and continued to live in her own apartment until her passing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate and kind care of mother, and a warm thank you to friends and colleagues for their support and care. A memorial service and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Aunty Lorraine always had a sparkle in her eye, and although I hadn't seen much of her in the last years of her life, she always made you feel so special whenever she did see you. My deepest condolences to all the family. - Posted by: Joan (Delisle) Dale (Neice) on: May 18, 2013
