Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHEATHER GUNSON (nee WILSON) December 12, 1960 - March 18, 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful, strong woman after a courageous two month battle with cancer. Left to mourn her loss is her mother Dorothy Wilson, brother Gary Wilson (Debbie), husband Randy Sackney, and their sons David (Danielle), Danny (Kira), Kristjan, and Daniel, and her beloved St. Bernard London. She was predeceased by her father James Wilson in 1988. Heather attended Lord Nelson Elementary, Stevenson Junior High, and graduated from St. James Collegiate. She worked for many years at Family Foods, formerly Hull's Foods on Portage Avenue. Heather's life during the past two years was very fulfilling and busy. She enjoyed many hours of hard work maintaining her beautifully landscaped yard, and koi pond, and kept an immaculate household for her family and her mother for whom she provided care. She lavished attention on her beloved St. Bernard London and many hours were spent swimming and spoiling her good boy. She had a heart of gold, and was always there for her family through thick and thin. She loved having the family in the house and when we all got together it was more than fun, especially when she had London, Boston and Gimli rolling around on the floor and taking treats from her hand. The family would like to give a special thank you to Cousin Rose for doing all she could during Heather's final days, the extended family and friends for all their support and the caring staff at the Respiratory Hospital and CancerCare. A celebration of Heather's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (west of Red River College). In lieu of flowers, donations in Heather's memory can be made to Palliative Care, or the Canadian CancerCare Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9. Heather was such a nice, beautiful girl with a wonderful smile and laugh that made you happy. she was always full of life, I knew her for many years shopping at Family Foods/Hulls often with my mother, she will sadly be missed.
