ANNE EWACHA (PROCIUK)
Born: Dec 12, 1912
Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE EWACHA (PROCIUK) December 12, 1912 March 10, 2013 Peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Holy Family Nursing Home, our dear Mom, Baba and Grandbaba took her final breath. Her work here on Earth was complete. Mom was born and raised on the family homestead in Zhoda, MB where she worked hard alongside her parents without a complaint always willing. In October 1938 she married Dad (Dan Ewacha). They operated a general store in Zhoda for eight years, then bought a store in Tolstoi and moved there with their three small children. They ran the general store for 31 years, in addition to the post office for 12 years and a liquor store for seven years. In 1977, after their children had grown up, mom and dad sold the business and moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Mom's hands were never idle. She enjoyed and excelled in sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She was a wonderful cook, baking many goodies for us. Her home was spotless and her gleaming white, hand washed laundry dazzled everyone. She enjoyed working outdoors where she tended a large vegetable garden and always took the time to tend her many flower beds. No task was ever too large, especially if asked for by anyone in her loving family. She gave 100% to all. Johnny once said that the only bad thing he could say about his mother-in-law was that she was too agreeable. After Dad passed away, mom spent winters in Las Vegas with Elizabeth and Johnny, where she made many dear friends who, to this day, ask about her and share their memories. When she could no longer travel, her distant Bingo friends continued to keep in touch with well-wishes and cards. Into her 101st year, Mom continued knitting scarves which she donated to Holy Family and her church. Every family member cherishes her hand-made treasures. Mom's other main pastime was sitting in her favourite chair working on word search puzzles. Mom was a gracious lady all of her life beautifully dressed and hair coiffed. She never spoke ill of anyone, neither did she complain. She was respected, loved and trusted by both family and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents John and Maria, husband Dan, son Jarvis, sister Lena, brothers Michael and Bill, and grandson Denis Asseiro. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Elizabeth (Johnny) Stefanchuk, son Leslie (Edna) Ewacha, daughter-in-law Kathleen Ewacha, grandchildren Billy (Jodie) Stefanchuk, Kathy Asseiro, Chris (Angela) Ewacha, Sheri (Dean) Mugleston, Daniel (Mari) Ewacha, Edward (Elizabeth) Ewacha, Michael Ewacha and honorary granddaughter Josephine Zammito. Grandbaba will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Emma Stefanchuk, Beth Asseiro, Alexis and Olivia Ewacha and Brooklyn and Kai Ewacha. Our heartfelt appreciation and thanks are extended to the staff of St. Mary's ward at Holy Family Nursing Home for their gentle and compassionate care of our sweet mom. A private memorial service was held March 13, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel and mom is now resting alongside her husband of 54 years in All Saints Cemetery. Vichnaya Pamyat
